DSC_0387Our first fall in the Tetons has come and gone so very fast. It seemed like September flipped a switch and started the leaves changing, the elk bugling, and the critters to start stocking up for winter. DSC_0306DSC_0328This is Mt. Moran from Oxbow Bend. These pictures were all taken the third week of September, which I have been told is usually the peak of fall color here. DSC_0336The color change seems to vary from tree to tree and location to location. These are on Pacific Creek, which is where I took many wildflower pictures this past spring.
DSC_0341Willow Flats had spectacular color for all of September, as well as a grizzly or two cruising through.
DSC_0346One of the little side roads leads to Cattleman’s Bridge, which is not there anymore. It’s a popular area to fish and launch kayaks and canoes into the Snake River. DSC_0349DSC_0367More pictures from the Oxbow Bend area. In the early mornings, this area is full of elk. They like to cross in front of me when I’m trying to get to work…DSC_0364DSC_0368Mr. Gecko and I took a quick motorcycle ride up to the top of Togwotee Pass to see the color from there. We were hoping to see it Tetons as well, but it was a pretty hazy day. DSC_0315

The color in the trees flamed up and then left, leaving the trees bare and brown, waiting for snow. DSC_0388
