My mom came out for a visit last week a couple of weeks ago. I was able to take some extra time off, and we went to visit the places that she had never visited, like the Grand Canyon. DSC_0030

The first place that we went was a set of dinosaur tracks on the Navajo reservation. There is no charge to see the tracks (but we tipped the guide to pay for his time), and they are everywhere. DSC_0044

That same day, we drove to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was a fairly clear day, and not too crowded. My aunt and uncle came along for the trip, and we all had a great time. DSC_0079 DSC_0071 DSC_0057

The wildlife at the South Rim are quite used to people. This can cause problems, especially when they are fed by people- not only can they get aggressive, they can also become quite unhealthy. This batch of elk were just taking advantage of a convenient resting spot.
See. Very used to people. DSC_0085
